The Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro is a premium non-stick pan built around a titanium cooking surface which the company says has nothing sprayed, dipped, or applied. The claim is that Our Place has cracked the code on a pan that's non-toxic, non-stick, versatile, dishwasher safe, and easy to clean.
I'm not a chef and I'm not in the industry. I'm a regular guy who cooks a lot, and what I want from a pan is that it's safe from a health perspective, easy to use, and effective. I saw the ad, I wanted to know if it held up, so I got one and I've been testing it for the last couple of weeks. I've been testing it for the last couple of weeks, and here's what I think. Let's dive in.
Price, Design and Aesthetics
This is a premium pan coming in at $195.
The design is a modern gloss finish with a beautiful bluish grey clad look on the inside. The older version had a slit in the lid and a little nodule on the handle where their spoon would slide into the slot. The problem was that it always got in the way, and steam would come out and make the handle really, really hot. Literally every other review I watched complained about that exact feature, and it looks like they've removed it. They took the customer feedback and made this better, which I think is a big upgrade.
I love the way this pan looks. It's honestly a really beautiful pan. The only problem with the finish is that it shows fingerprints a lot, so it's hard to keep nice and shiny, and it shows water spots really easily. With just a little bit of use, it's already getting some staining on the bottom. That said, I haven't put it through the dishwasher yet.
Materials and Coating
- Construction: 3 mm fully clad tri-ply
- Exterior: stainless steel
- Core: aluminum
- Interior: titanium with their no-coating non-stick technology
Their whole claim is that this special technology has no coating and is unlike any other non-stick on the market, and that the pan is free of PFAS, PTFE and all the other forever chemicals.
If you're going down the rabbit hole on this stuff, me and the team screened hundreds of products and put them into a non-toxic product database you can get for free at wellnessdaddy.com/database.
Performance And My Experience
Performance has been nothing short of extraordinary. This is probably one of the best pans I've ever used in my entire life, if not the best.
For the non-stick test I cooked an egg with no butter, no oil, no nothing. I'm not going to lie, I was very, very impressed. The egg cooked basically perfectly. There was just a little bit of stuff left over and I could literally run my spoon across it and it came straight up, with no oil whatsoever.
It's insanely easy to clean. A little bit of soap and water and you're good. It heats up quickly and evenly, and it retains heat really well. It's also relatively deep, so you can fit a lot of food in it, and it's dishwasher safe if you don't want to hand wash.
I cooked two ribeyes in it and got a really, really good sear. Perfect texture. This actually takes the cake as my favorite pan I've ever used, and it's really easy to cook anything in it.
Versatility
It's deep enough for soups and shallow frying. The lid fits tight and doubles as a steam trap. It's compatible with all oven types, including induction. I'd give this pan a 10 out of 10 for versatility.
Weight And Handling
At 3.4 lb it's a bit heavier than some of the other Our Place pans, and it's definitely not light. The handle is pretty balanced though, so you can move around the kitchen easily with it. There's no wobbling or warping with repeated high-heat use.
Health and Safety
This is the most important category.
The claims about having no coating are misleading, because the no-coating technology is a titanium oxide coating. Apparently the process isn't considered a coating because nothing is sprayed, dipped, or applied. I found this in another video about this pan, where an email from the CEO explained that the titanium surface goes through a proprietary curing process that makes it non-stick. I don't know what a proprietary curing process means, so I have a big question mark there.
In that same video, the reviewer took a fork to the inside of the pan and was able to scrape off the supposedly non-existent coating that the company says it doesn't have.
After I took a deeper look at titanium oxide, I had more questions and more concerns. Titanium oxide, also known as titanium dioxide, has been used in things like paint and sunscreen and in some food ingredients. It's also a whitening agent used in cosmetics and other products. The FDA considers it safe, but says that at "high intake" it could be harmful. I don't know about you, but I've lost a bit of faith in the FDA.
Apparently, inhaling titanium dioxide dust has been linked to lung cancer in animal studies. Some research suggests the nanoparticles may cause cell damage and DNA mutation, which could potentially lead to cancer. The European Food Safety Authority, the European equivalent of the FDA, has raised concerns around this particular compound.
Does that mean that when you're cooking with this pan you're releasing those fumes and those particles into your food? I don't know. I think it's just something worth considering. Just because something doesn't have PFAS or so-called forever chemicals in it doesn't mean it can't have things in it that could be potentially harmful.
Who It's For (And Who It's Not For)

Final Thoughts
For me personally, when I think about making recommendations, I think about whether I can recommend this to my mom. For this product, the answer is no, because I have too many unanswered questions.
I could be totally wrong. This could be a non-issue and maybe I'm missing something. But from the research I've done, I feel like there are much safer options and the risk-reward isn't really there. The fact that they say there's no coating and then another guy scraped the coating off makes me feel like something's odd, and then there are the unknowns around titanium dioxide.
Even if it's at a very low level, which would probably mean no impact, I don't think about it like that. We live in a pretty toxic world, and it's not about the one thing, it's about everything. I want to do my best to lower my toxic burden and exposure as much as possible, because it's death by a thousand paper cuts. If you have any kind of chronic condition, any issues with your immune system, or you're susceptible to toxic exposure, then genuinely you want to avoid as much of this stuff as you can without being totally neurotic.
Does that mean I'll never eat off a so-called toxic pan, or that I'll travel with my own pans and take them everywhere I go? No, because that level of neuroticism can be way worse than cooking on a pan that may or may not be bad for you. It's about the daily drivers, the things I use consistently. I want the healthiest one I can get with the least amount of inconvenience, and then I can forget about it. Out of sight, out of mind. The things I use the most are the things that make the biggest difference.
I also believe the body is very resilient and can handle some of these exposures. To some degree, some of them might even be good for us, because they help us grow, adapt, and become stronger. Removing everything can be a problem too.
So this pan performs better than almost anything I've cooked on. If the coating question doesn't bother you, you'll be happy with the purchase. For me, there are much safer options, and the risk-reward isn't really there. If you're on the hunt for a really good non-toxic pan, I reviewed a bunch of them in a separate review where I go through the pros and cons of each.
